As is the case with many great and popular ideas, I decided that whilst flowers were special, childbirth was something that should be celebrated and gifts should be practical because goodness knows getting to the shops was now a chore.
Mothers needed gifts they could use, that were visually spectacular and made the tired and often emotional mum feel as special and wanted as she really is.
